Beautiful Lang Co in central Vietnam to host tourism festival

Fun and games and art will take center stage in a tourism festival next week on Lang Co’s idyllic shores in the central region of Vietnam

Thua Thien-Hue province is gearing up for the first-ever Lang Co Tourism Festival on August 20 and 21 which will include of photo and painting exhibitions, installation art and sculpture, a food festival and demonstrations of synchronized swimming.

There is also a ‘games’ agenda with kayaking and diving competitions, beach volleyball and foot¬ball tournaments, kite flying, coconut tree climbing and others.

The festival will be held at Lang Co beach, 30 kilometers north of Hue a beautiful, island-like stretch of palm-shaded sand with a crystal-clear lagoon.

Visitors to the festival can also explore the Bien Ngoc Island Entertainment Centre.
Using the opportunity, local authorities plan to bring tourism projects for which they are seeking investment to the attention of visitors and business people.
 
The festival comes as part of a series of festivals designed to make Hue a major tourism brand, the latest being the Hon Chen Temple Festival (August 12 to 14), which attracted scores of tourists and created a shortage of vessels to course on the Huong river.
