Huong Hai Junk Halong: Ancient royal crafts : According to legend, Ha Long Bay  was formed when a dragon descendedinto the sea. What better way to explore this magical landscape than aboard a romantic junk? My cabin was one of 52 well-appointed rooms onboard of Huong Hai ancient royal crafts . My children rushed to the playground , while my husband and I took stroll on desk and enjoyed the sun sinking into the bay. Leaning over the railing , I felt like a character in a film.

After feasting on fresh seafood,we took seats on the upper deck to enjoy the moonlit views. When the night dropped completely, the deep silence covered and the cool breeze puffed lightly, we rowed small boat to go fishing with hand-held nets.

Next morning, everyone stayed silently to enjoy the stillness and the breath-taking beauty of rocky island rising out of crystal-clear. The quiet was almost eerie.

I could listen to the birds singing, the cicadas chirping and the wave lapping against our boat as a wonderful melody. Our trip exploring the “Venice on the rocks”, as French marshal D.Lyautey once described, continued right after breakfast. Besides wallowing in mysterious natural beauty of the bay, I gained unforgettable knowledge on the area’s culture with varios tempels, pagodes and historic relics. Two days flew by rapidly,

I enjoyed the trip so much that I lost all sense of time.
