It is predominantly spent trekking through the growing forest, Minority villages and mountains of the Pha Pon Golden Mountain and designed for moderately active people who love getting into the great outdoors.
Day 1: Luang Prabang – Pak Chaek – Huay Thoum – Yha Nang ( L, D )
Depart from Luang Prabang, we drive uphill for about 1 ½ hour toward the north of Luang prabang to the trekking starting point. At Ban Pak Chaek, we cross the Ou River by fishing boat then walk past Pak Chaek of Lao Leu village. We trek along the valley of beautiful landscape and pass the rice field to Huay Thuom and Yha Nang villages, where is inhabited by Khmu ethnic minority. Here we stay for the night.
Approximately: 1 ½ hour transfer/ 5 hours trekking.
Day 2: Yha Nang – Pha Pon (the Golden Mountain Range) – Had Huay – Luang Prabang ( B, L )
After breakfast, we walk past an area where Hmong people are paining gold and see the Pha Pon Golden Mountain. We trek to the top of the mountain that offers a great view and stop for local picnic lunch. We continue the trek from Pha Pon area to Ban Hat Huay of Khmu ethnic minority. From here, we return to Luang Prabang.
Approximately: 1 hour transfer/ 6 hours trekking.
